  • Ingredients

    At Salvge we try to waste as little as possible. The ingredients for the Raw Shorts in Slate are derived from The Shirt in Eucalyptus dark’s post dye bath. The remaining liquid is first heated and then fermented, this process enriches the colour and results in mottled shades of grey.

  • Materials

    The Raw Shorts are constructed out of 100% silk. This silk is ‘raw’ due to the minimal processing. Raw silk retains the softness and drape of traditional silk but presents in a weave that is akin to linen, but with a slightly nubby texture. Items made from raw silk are only available in limited quantities or made to order when possible.

We believe that the ingredients we need to dye textiles are all around us, trees, seeds and food waste can make amazing colours. We can avoid the need for chemical dyes that cause massive harm to the environment and waste tremendous amounts of water and energy.

Whilst we realise that no new clothing is completely sustainable, we strive to reduce our environmental impact as much as possible. Our garments are dyed with kitchen waste like onion skins or from foraged leaves and barks.
